Hoping somebody can point me in the right direction on this one.... I have a 94 GMC 1500 4x4, extended cab, with lots of miles. After driving at higher speeds for longer distance, after I stop the drivers side rear wheel will feel like the brake is dragging, this is particularly pronounced if I stop and then turn left, the tire almost hops. Turning right or going straight from the stop really doesnt have the same effect. I also notice that if I take a shorter trip at lower speeds it really never happens either, even if turning left from a stop. I'm trying to figure out if I have a bearing issue, a brake issue, or a rear diff issue. As always thanks to you repair masterminds for any advice... Scott

Check that the parking brake cable is not binding. Check for wheel bearing play on that side. Pull the drum and check the linings have not broken up. Check that the shoe retraction springs are good and intact. Check for any fluid leak at wheel cylinder and that both pistons in the wheel cylinders move freely. Check that the shoe retaining pins are good. Make sure that the shoes are properly adjusted.

Thanks for the assistance, it was the additive for the limited slip rear end. I recently had all the oil leaks fixed and when they replaced the seal on the rear diff and added the new lube, the obviously forgot to add the LSD additive. I put in about 3/4 of the small bottle and took it for a freeway test drive and there was no locking or chattering when turning after stopping!!! Much better! Thanks again!
