1997 4.3 chevy truck

help an old timer, i have a 4.3 gmc that when i try to start this truck it will not start unless i pour gas down the throttle body . it starts and 5 to 7 days laterl i dont drive i have to do it again . As long as i drive it every day it runs fine but i am a long distance trucker and it sits in the drive way ...(.motor heads any help i need thanks alot)

maybe fuel pressure regulator?

fuel problems

1997 gmc 4.3 changed the fuel filter and got out the fuel pressure gauge .with ign switch on ,fuel psi at 50 psi turned off switch drops quick to 10psi gas runs out the exhaust . i installed the fuel filter backwards and that when the problem started any help i installed the filter as out at tank and in toward the the motor is that wrong iu

i think it's on backwards , but i think the real problem is in your injectors .
