90 GMC suburban transmission I have a 1990 GMC 1500 suburban with a 9" lift, 38" tires and plans to put 1 ton axles on. I have the stock 350 TBI with the 700R4 (which is toast 7,000 miles after rebuilt). I want a HEAVY duty transmission for off roading and towing, something that'll last. I've had many opinions, should i go with a stage 3 700R4 or would it be worth it to do a complete conversion to a 93-94 Chevy NV4500 trans??

hard to give advice until you choose what kind of tranny you want. auto or manual?? really need to have something pretty beefy though if running 38s and wanting to go into the mud with that huge heavy truck.

i'd prefer manual but automatic would be cheaper and easier.
