it ended up being the ground cable connection to engine

starts up normal now...

I agree that's what my truck was doing not long ago but mine would do it when it was hot. I seen on Ebay they have a heavy duty one for a good price.

The clicking sound is the solenoid engaging.

This thread has me wondering a little bit if a bad ground could be part of the cause of my truck running bad when warmed up. When I get it back from the trans shop I just may go through all the grounds.
