| Snider, you're trying to just rush through this and throw parts at the problem, and that may or may not actually fix it. And, unless you get really, really lucky, and throw exactly the right part at it, you're going to end up spending a lot more money fixing it than if you take the time to actually diagnose the problem. Now, if you want to just throw a rebuilt TBI on it (and for $50 it's probably a lousy rebuild from Autozone) then go right ahead, and good luck to you. Your money and your vehicle, and no one here will deny that that is your right to do. But, if you actually want to understand what's happening, find the exact cause of the problem, and fix it correctly, we're all willing to help you do that. The choice is yours. Now, the CEL is an important diagnostic tool in situations like this, so having it working is to your benefit (not to mention an automatic "fail" if it's inoperative in states and areas that have emissions inspections), but if you don't want to bother with it that's up to you. How are you checking for "spark" at the injectors? (Please don't say you're shorting them out, grounding them, or anything like that...)

You can use a test light to see if it's getting a pulse, or buy a "noid" light to check it. Most likely though you're not getting a signal to the injectors due to a bad sensor or ECM.

| ECM = engine control module BTW, I did some looking and I can't figure out where you got that $50 price for a new TBI from. You can hardly even find a single cheap injector for that price, let alone a complete TBI.
