help!

ok heres the deal i hope i can get it running today. 1989 gmc 5.7 litter fuel injected. was not getting gas. i replaced fuel pump and filter and thoses work properly.i tested it. the gas gets all the way to the carberator and gets stuck somewhere in there and dont allow it to start. i unpluged the lines going to the carb and gas came out of there. wha ti wanna know is what can i replace to get it starting. can there be a claug? can i test the 2 wires going into the carb to make the swing are go up and down? is there even a swing arm? please help. should i buy a carberatorr.... or should i test the wires going to there im confused help please?????

First off, if it's fuel injected then you don't have a carb. Most likely it's TBI, and there's a number of issues that could prevent the injectors from firing. I believe the most common of these would be a bad crank sensor.

Have you tried pulling codes yet?

and where is the crank sensor

Is your check engine light on?

dump some gas down the throttle body and see if it spits

no... gas gauge dont work as well.. hasnt since i bought it

i dumped gas down there and it wants to start... it starts for a sec then dies like it needs gas

i noticed another guy on here had same problem... and did ignition module and it worked?

Check the bulb in the CEL, might be burned out, then try pulling codes once you get it working.
