New with a 1996 GMC c1500 cub cab

Hello,
I have a 1996 GMC c1500 3door cubcab.
Does anyone have a service manual for this truck. I need to research the suspension.
Thank you.

What's the research for? School? Or are you wanting to lift it? Come on don't be shy we'll only bite if you ask nicely.

ok...lol
I have adquired a lowered 1996 GMC c1500 3door cubcab of which is not what i prefer. i like to at least get it back to stock...the 22" wheel may or may not stay on it depending on how it looks afterward. supposely the truck was lowered with a kit...but i honestly dont know much bout trucks and suspension. i am mechnically inclined so i would love to learn bout how to DYI.

good chance they went in with drop spindles for the front. without knowing how mechanically inclined you are, you may have to ask for details about individual parts. these are great for lowering, not slamming, trucks and are just as dependable as stock components. as for as the back, they probably used drop shackles. these shackles which attach to the rear of the leaf spring are typically taller than stock which lowers the suspension. taller makes shorter, i know, sounds weird but once you look at what i am describing, you will understand. some people have also tried relocating the axle tube to be on top of the springs but doubt this is true in your case.
if both of these are true, you should be able to achieve factory settings for little or nothing at a parts yard. if you can find someone wanting to lower theirs, you may be able to trade for their parts.

no. you have shorter springs but also drop spindles. they are just like regular spindle assemblies except the spindle is located in a different location then the stock spindle assembly.
if you could take pics of the front and rear suspension, we can tell you exactly what you have, tell you what your best solution would be and maybe give out a bit of education.

1992-1998 Chevy C1500 2" Lowering Spindles. most of the community refers to them as drop spindles though.
