| Fluid is leaking because the shaft is unbalanced and the vibration has probably destroyed the rear seal on the tranny.

| Of course the shaft still has the weights. They're spot welded on. But changing the U-joints can change the balance, especially if you got the yoke 180 degrees out of synch. And yeah, an hour is more than enough time to destroy a seal. I've seem 'em go in just a few seconds.

| The seal you should be able to get at any auto parts place. On the shaft, try popping out the front joint and rotating the yoke 180 degrees then putting it back together. Most mechanics will put a chalk or crayon mark on the joint before taking it apart, so that it goes back together again the same way and stays balanced.

| What do you want to know about them? I'm no expert on that model or year, having gotten out of the auto business in the mid 90's, but if I can answer the question I will. And there's guys on here with a lot more experience than I have with those who will also give answers and advice.

| Maybe the rearend is not at the right angle for some reason the u-joints went out then the seal went out so fast something is not aligned right or like Bernie said maybe the drive shaft is off balance. |
