That looks like security bits to me. You are saying the screws would fit into the bits? If so, get the tools. Noway you can just take the whole column that is left?

they are a male torx bit. you need a special socket from napa to remove them. actually says GM ignition switch tool or something to that affect.

Harbor Freight has 'em too. I bought a set of them from there a few months back. I think I paid $6

If the guys who design 'em had to take one home, use it every day for 2 years, and do all the maint and repairs themselves, cars would have a button on the dash to change the oil, filters & plugs.

the bit had E4 stamped in it. like i said, napa or carquest will carry it and it is described as a chevy ignition bit or something to that affect.
