| it is a possiblity as you have a MAF sensor before the leak instead of a MAP in the intake. that thing is designed to hold extra volumes of air for when you punch the throttle, the engine wont starve for air. you have a surplus stored there on the intake. now as to how well it works for that intended purpose, i cant tell you. most people decide to go with the aftermarket intakes anyway so there is no telling how much of a differance it makes without it. |

| Im know car CAI and such...that might be on my to do list...1st things 1st...to get the engine running stable while driving...lucky fo me (so far) it hasnt cut off and drives strong so maybe my plans for cleanin the MAF up abit and doin the full service (oil and all filters) might help this thanks for the imput |

| my truck had a similar problem with the resinator, your pic, and made the engine shutter and stall because the "vaccuum" of the intake was getting too much air. tightened all connections and cleaned mas...I tried with the resinator off and it wouldn't stay running unless it was held steady at 2000 rpms or higher.. |

| WOOOT....took it to advance auto...they read the error that it was a leak in the intake. they cleared the light..i got cleaner...got home...removed the air filter and the MAF....cleaned that and sprayed cleaner all in the throttle body. i know i need to do more...but it was alreay dark |

| Usually they won't clear the code. Good for them. Oh wait, you said Advance. Not sure about them. I know Auto Zone won't. They will if you buy parts from them, and fix it, then take it back and if they are nice enough and bored, they will erase the codes.

| leak in the intake. can you remember what code number it was?? P0??? should be easy to find a vacuum leak. |

| he didnt show it to me...but im thrilled its running better...i bet the full oil/tune up i do sat will make a nice improvement. only reason im doin it is cause i have no clue when any of this was done...if i do it i know how long i can go till the next time. its nice to know that avdance auto will do that though thanks for your input |

| well...spoke too soon...engine turned on again but maybe it needs more cleaning. is there a gasket or seal under the part of the intake just infront of the box with vortec on it? i assume thats the throttle body |
