is it a late shift?? shift great except gives you whiplash when goes into the next gear?? shifts at high RPM?? idle a little high?? if yes to all of these, characteristic of a malfunctioning TPS.

what is TPS? yes to all....not a ruff whiplash...but noticible and it does feel like its abit late. the idle seems fine but when li let off the brake...at times the idle drops way low like it bout to cut off...i have to press down on the gas to get goin....squealed my wheels last nite lol

throttle positioning sensor. you really have to give it more gas when moving from gear to gear in an auto otherwise, it seems like it doesnt want to shift. because of this, it shifts in a high RPM creating an extremely hard shift. this however will not cause poor idle. it might if the IAC was south, though.

Here you go. This should be what your Throttle Body looks like when you have remove the coverings and the duct work.

Found this 411.

Throttle Position (TP) sensor
Like the older engines, the TP (or TPS) is mounted on the throttle body throttle shaft. The sensor is a potentiometer that varies the voltage output based on position (in this case, the angle of the throttle blade). At idle, the output voltage is around 0.6V, and at WOT this voltage is around 4.0V. The pcm sees the signal, along with the CMP, CKP, MAP and MAF to determine if the engine is accelerating or not. This affects many systems, including emission system and fuel calibration control. An erratic or faulty TP sensor will cause erratic engine performance. A DTC will be set depending on the type of fault condition the pcm sees.
