You have to be careful about that claim , many companies have the oil made to THEIR specs , which might be a lot diff than the brand name. Not saying this is the case with NAPA. But do check on it.

People just won't believe what I say about Fram filters.

part of the reason i used mobil 1 filters and oil now. It takes the guess work out of the equation.

Stay with conventional if you switch now your seals will leak seeing as how synthetic is molecularly smaller it will find smaller holes. Thats the claim to how it lubes so well.

All I can see is one uses a higher quality retaining system and maybe that the filter material is more stable.

sorry scav i missed your post. i sent you a pm with a link.

As for everyone else simply google "mobil 1 vs fram" without quotes. You'll find a slew of people bashing Fram and many others cutting them apart comparing not only fram but other filters as well. Some even talk about ACDelco DuraGuard and how they are not the same filter they were 20 years ago.

I have switch a number of high mileage engines ,100 k , to synthetic oil with no leaking problems. No problems of any kind. I switch my truck when I got it at 125k on the engine.

really? Thats what I was told. Plus the difference in addititves could eventually harm the seals. Again that is what I was told.
