How Fast Can you Drive In 4x4????

We got our first substantial snow today and I am at school and having to use the 4x4 more. I was wondering how fast you can drive in 4x4 without messing up anything? At home they are pretty good about clearing the streets but here in terre haute ehhh not so much.

    thanks in advance!

    my truck is a 97 gmc sierra 2500 454 4l80E

I would say no more than 45-50mph max. 4wd is not meant for high speeds when it's a stock system. My opinion tho but looking in an owners manual will give you suggested speeds as well

Might also want to ask how fast before snow/slush has you hydroplaning.
4x4 doesn't work on actual water.

You can drive as fast as your brakes will stop you!

I would not go over 55 and for extended periods. I might do 40 for extended.

its pure snow here, but I thought about 40 was good, I didn't exceed that, but I usually only maybe drive 50. I mostly cut it off when I get to the main roads at home.

i got a 99 gmc sierra 1/2 ton and i am pretty sure you can run it right up to 100 without messing anything up. i've done about 85 in 4wd without having any problems, haven't takin it to 100 because there is no where to go that fast in 4wd but i'm pretty sure you can drive as fast as you want on the new stuff.
