1995 gmc ''sputtering''

I have a GMC 2500 with a 454 and it sometimes almost dies (sputters) when I start to go. I replaced the plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor button,PCV valve, and fuel filter. After this my problem continued. I then noticed that it was taking a long time to warm up, so I changed the thermostat. It's been only a few days and it hasn't done it. My question is, could the thermostat have caused this sputtering? It looked OK but felt a little weaker than the new one. I know it could cause the truck to be slow warming but I don't feel sure that it could've been the cause of the sputtering. Any help would be appreciated.

the answer to your question is yes, when the engine is cold the ecm. sends a message for more fuel, thus causing more fuel, when not necessarly needed
