Shocks Installation Help!!!!

Hey Guys I have 97' Sierra Z71, It has the original shocks that came with the lift kit, but I want to drop some new shocks in. How hard is this to do? I know the rear is pretty easy, but its the front im worried about!

Thanks!

you have to jack truck up and let front wheel hang down. There most lightly will still be tension on the coil springs and youll need to rent a spring compressor [avail at auto store]. you have to clamp the spring some.
Loosen the nut on top of the shock [youll most lightly need an allen key to stop the shock top from turning around. before you remove the nut make sure the shock isint being pulled down as you loosen threads if so prop the wheel from dropping down farther then loosen bottom bolts on shock as well as top bolt. you will most lightly have to take the spring out to remove old shock and fit it in with new shock.
the coil spring is fierce strong and will easily break bones if it comes off the spring compressor //work with extra caution.
What i should have suggested is to get a haynes manual for your year of truck. it tells you how to do springs step by step and shows pics too which is most helpful.
Good luck and mind em nuckles.
