| I have a 95 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4, and it will not engage the front wheels...I am guessing that the auto hubs are not locking. I checked the fuse, and it was blown, so I replaced it, and it blew the new fuse also. If anyone know what the problem is and/or how to fix it please let me know. Thanks. |

| Crossed wires? It sounds to me like you have a short somewhere...the trick is finding it

| mabye the acuator motor has a short thats the motor that locks the 4wheel drive i think u might check this and also there are several harneses on the trany that are conected to this . u might start there |

| I can tell you what it is... there is an actuator motor in the front Dif... this thing goes out on a whim.. you can pick up a new one from autozone for like $125 if i remember correctly... however if you do this you're self, there is a new extra wire on the new one, this replaces the temp sensor that was on the factory actuator. ; ) |

| try looking on the side of the front diff. You should have an acuator there w/a wire harness conected to it, I had the same proplem on mine and if you dont use your 4 wheel drive often it will lock in and not engage, what I did was take mine out and pull out the acuator with channel locks while a friend ennergized it in the cab repeated several times untill it was free. After that I will every now n then I will shift into 4 wheel drive even at a stop to keep it in action.......... |

| On my 95 serria it was the switch on the tranfer case. According to a mech friend of mine they changed the actuator in 96 and started having problems then, so he put a 95 actuator on his 96. Just my 2 cents. |

| O.K. here we go. Sinple unplug the fron diff actuator and engange the 4 wheel drive (press the button) if it blows the fuse still it is the actuator, if not plug the actuator in and unplug the transfer case and try it again. These are simple chacks to verify which component is bad. Otherwise your just playing parts changing roulette.

| Alot of people do it when they dont properly diagnose the problem and end up replacing alot of good parts
