| Is there a way to manually raise or lower the electric windows? since one is slower than the other, i am anticipating one going bad. 02 Sierra |

| Only by hand. If the motor goes bad than hopefully it will just stop working and you can just use your hand on the windor to lift and lower it untill you can repalce the motor. If you think the motor is dying tho I would just replace it or or have someone replaced it because its a pain in the a without the mtor. |

| i didnt think that you could lift it or lower it while attached to the motor and rails????? if it dies then i hope it does in the up position. sux, they should have a manual overide where you can do it with a socket. other cars have that feature. |

| there is a manual over-ride, take out the door panel, un-hook the motor, use ablock of wood or door stop of sumsort to hold it up. to put it down, pull the block out (just use ur hand to control the fall so the window dont shatter) always works for us

| u could duct tape the window in place and just remove the tape to lower it, instead of having a block

| Wow......I can't say that I got the answer I expected. I am dissapointed that there is no manual override besides the southern engineering style. I appreciate you guy's help. |

| BLOCKS OF WOOD AND DUCT TAPE,,,No no no,(shaking head and laughing)No, I wont give you a bunch of weird fixes, But some motors have a nut on the end of the shaft where you can turn the nut and move the worm drive up or down, But if there isnt a nut, then you need to remove the electric motor assembly and manually raise the window and reinstall the motor to keep the mechanism in the up position. Not an easy fix, but if it fails in the middle of nownere and its gonna rain before you can get parts it works until you can get a new motor. Not something you will want to do every time you need the window down, but a one time thing to get you thru a rain storm. Hope this answers your question

| Yeah, my questions has unfortunately been answered..............and I didnt get the answer I wanted......sux. I owned an old beemer long ago and it had a small hole (covered by a plastic tab) on the panel with a nut on it in case of emergency. I was wondering if GM had something different...... No chance....... |
