| TBI or carburetor?????? This is my first post. I have a '93 GMC Xtended cab and it currently has 288K miles on it. Only the bottom end has been redone due to a turned bearing on the crank. And the transmission was overhauled roughly 2K miles ago. She still has a bit of grunt left in her, but nothing like she used to. In the day it was able to bark second gear on dry pavement and kick to the right a bit. Anyways, I am looking for a replacement motor and in the meantime I was wondering what sort of problems, if any, would come from switching from the TBI to a carburetor. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. |

| No big deal. Just need an intake manifold, A vacuum advance HEI distribuitor , a carb of your choice, and a fuel pressure regulator and about a day to do it. I just did it on e friends f350. I used a gm hei distribuitor , A holley 650, adn a performer intake. We didnt need the pressure regulator, We just bypassed the high pressure pump. Chevy only has one fuel pump though.
