GMC sierra. 4x4 differential question

I have a 1996 GMC sierra 1500 4x4. I have a stock rear end and i'm wondering if anybody knows the stock gear ratio and how I can tell if it is a dana 60 or a Chevy rear end? Or what i can check to see what it is.

More than likely it is a stock gm 10 bolt. I know they used to have a sticker in the glove box that had what the gear ratio was. If not it is on the door with the vin number and gvwr. As for what type of rearend it is there should be a metal tag on the differential housing or axle tube that'll give you more information on it

it is a 10 bolt GM. I can't seem to find what the ratio is set at. Any other ideas? I guess i might be able to count turns after i mark the tire. Also, does anyone know where i can get a lock for my diff?

Do U Want A Locker Or A Limited Slip Posi Either Way Ther Are A Lot Of Places That U Can Get Them At Like Off Road Wharehouse, Summit, 4wheel Parts, And Many Other To Name A Few. Maybe Even Look At Your Local Rear End Shop They Might Be Able To Cut U A Good Deal On A Rebuilt Or Better

thanks. I got 3:73. GT4
My local shops don't carry anything. I would prefer an actual lock, but like a limited slip is better than nothing. If you guys know of somewhere i might be able to order something, let me know...
