| Guys- New to the board and hoping yall got an answer for my question... Got a 01 Gmc Z71 and I have a serious problem... Ok- With the push button four wheel drive, I put it in Neutral, push the 4HI, the light blinks 4-5 times, stops blinking(as if it is in 4HI) But its not! The 4LO does work, but the 4Hi doesnt! Whats the deal? I took it to some shop and they said that a "gear" was not droppin down into some position so it wasnt not catching??? THIS MAKE SENSE? Another guy told me it could be as simple as a fuse or a bad sillinoid? The shop told me it would cost 1,000-1500 bucks to have it fixed!!! What do yall think it is? THANKS! |

| Try this: put the truck into neutral, push the 4L button (let it engage) and then the 4H. I've had mine "stick" before and this would "cure" it. Check the wiring behind the dash panel and below the truck for anything loose, too. Hopefully, it's something simple and cheap. |

| Well I would suspect a timing issue with the motor on the transfer case, or an actuator. My question is when you put int in the w range that appears to ork, havee you tested it to ensure it is actually engaged? i usually put a manual actuator on the front diff because i like to know for sure weather it is in or not.

| just went throught the exact same symptions on my blazer and it was the actuator. I know they're different, but when my truck went out, it took a long time to go into 4 wheel drive. I replaced it before i lost 4wd, but my blazer just quite on me...i dunno.
