1990 gmc truck engine question

I have a 1990 gmc 1500 with a 350 5 speed. My question is this engine a vortec style? I am planning on putting different heads on it but don't know if a older set will work with the factory intake or i need to get a vortec head. Also is this a roller engine or not?

Vortec was equipped on 96 up. Your 350 isnt vortec and vortec heads will work.

Cool so my afr heads would work with the stock tbi intake. Going to be converting to the edelbrock mpfi.

i think the vortecs are rollers not the pre 96's. you can use like 202's or 802's on it but you have to modify your intake a lil bit. for anyone who questions this, i have seen it done with 802 heads but... i dont remember exactly what was done im thinking it was something with the mounting holes on the intake, maybe drilling them out a little or somethin but cant really remember exactly. it was a 89 tbi setup on a pre '87 350 in a 70 model short-wide chevy pickup.
