94 Gmc Tbo Diesel Stalling Hi everyone,I have a 1994 GMC diesel that stalls. The stalling only happens once and a while. There are no codes at all.!!!!!The truck even died with the scanner hooked up and still no codes .Truck runs great other than the stalling issue. An internet site points directly to the PUMP MOUNTED DRIVER.(PMD)That is mounted on the side of the injector pump.A common problem so I am told.I would like to know if the PMD can be bad or going bad WITHOUT LEAVING CODES IN COMPUTOR.IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!Thank you for any help at all ....collision guy....

Thanks Chevy guy for the info.Iwill try to find a test pmd before I spend 600.00 dollars for a new one. They say you should mount pmd on fire wall to avoid this from happening again.Iwill install tester and see if the truck stalls again.Thank you kindly Chevy guy,I will let you know what happens....Collision guy

Well I found a donor PMD tried it by attaching to top of engine.Worked good going home restarted no problem.Drove to work next day let idle a while then shut off.Restarted let idle then stalled 5 min later.I had a sugestion from fourm to check for power at lift pump Well WELL ,NO POWER TO LIFT PUMP.Iguess the Oil Pressure Switch needs to be bypassed or replaced. Then probably you should mabe replace lift pump also. Some say when lift pump hasnt been working for a while it causes Injector pump to run hot and possibly overheat the PMD .The flow of fuel through the injector pump is supposed to cool PDM but cannot with lift pump not operating. So Iwill replace OPS and lift pump and see what happens.Hopefully PDM is OK but probably not.I will keep you posted Chevy Guy thanks for your interest.......Collision Guy...
