Cool 93 Gmc C2500

Just had a multiple of problems, first died and wouldn't start. Now after removing all the water from the fuel. It is misfiring real bad and I am getting a code 42 ECM replace???
Is this necessary or am I missing something else where I can clear the codes and move on?

93 GMC 5.7 TBI

Thanks...
