Cruise Problem '01 Sierra

Hey Guys and Gals-

I'm a newbie to the forum but so far it's great!

Question is, my cruise suddenly stopped working. I was using it one day, and the next it wasn't. I checked the fuses and replaced them ( even though they were fine ). Any thoughts would be geatly appreciated.

'01 GMC, 5.3L 4x4.

First thing you need to do is check for codes.

If I don't have a reader I suppose I will have to pay the shop to do that for me?

auto stores like autozone and such will read codes for free, but i doubt it will show any codes.

Any ideas then? I really don't think it's the switch.

do newer model vehicles still use vacuum for the cruise or are they electronic like everything else under the hood??

I believe that's all electronic just like all that other garbage under the hood.

It should be electric. I would check the brake switch and/or clutch switch(if you have a manual)
