fuel filter location

I am looking for the fuel filter on a 2005 GMC 1500 Sierra. I have looked on the frame rail on the drivers side and didn't see anything that looked like a fuel filter (silver round filter). There is a large black plastic box just fwd of the fuel tank. Could this be a new type of filter assy?

The only thing I can get is that the filter is located between the injectors and the fuel feed pipe Not sure if that helps much. Start at the injectors and follow the fuel lines back. You're bound to find it that way.

i really don't know how different our trucks are between 95 and 05, but mine's not next to the rail under the drivers side door, but further towards the middle--more like under where the driver's butt would be, behind another part of the support frame (neatly hidden). it's not that big, and grey metal lines will be going in and out of it...hope that helps... again, i'm not sure what changes GM may have made...
