What's the square plug for on a 700r4 transmission?

I swapped my 5 speed manual out for a 700r4 and was wondering what the square plug is for?. My wire harness has two flat 2 prong connector's for the factory manual trans. The 700r4 has a internal hyd lockup for non computer controlled vehicles. Just wondering if I need this plug.
Thanks

That is what the square plug is for. It is for the Torque Convertor Lockup. You can find a pig tail and hardwire a toggle for the lockup. Any tranny shop can give you a diagram or atleast shed some light on it for you.

Yip , Need to be able to control the lockup , especially if you tow with it.

My transmission has a aftermarket hyd. lockup kit installed in it? I'd still need the plug.
