abs issues

on the same 98 gmc in the other thread, i have this problem where every time that i break the abs comes, on, not that i pound on the breaks all the time, then also you can hear the abs coming on when the wheels are turned or i am going just slow enough that my foot is of the gas, then when i push the brake pedal it clicks and pushes back up. i believe that this is cuased by a faulty abs wire on the passneger side by rotors, or justa junked brake computer all together. any feedback on my situation would be greatly appreciated.

the family i am doing a renovation for has a 98 suburban with the exact problem. I took it one day and unplugged the abs computer or module and it worked fine, but no abs brakes. Well, they want abs so after the 15th time to the shop, they told her that it is the abs computer gone bonkers. they thought it was wires, sensors, rotors, pads, grease from cv axle, all kinds of stuff.

I recently had a similiar problem with my 2000 Sierra. I spoke with the local dealer who advised me of a recall. The front wheel sensors needed to be replaced. I had the work completed and have had the truck back for a few days and it seems to have corrected the problem. I will keep you posted if anything changes.

need to get it to a shop with a scan tool so while slowing down or sometimes driving at about 5mph 1 of the 3 speed sensors will read less than the other 2 and that is the one with the problem. I have done 2 in the past week but were the left front but it is usualy one of the front speed sensors since the rear also works the speedo. And the other guy with the 2000 pick up there is a recall on the newer body style trucks in northern/salty corrosion states where rust builds up under the sensor so that it can not get a proper reading for wheel speed and causes the same concern.

There was a recall for the sensors. They had faulty sensor installed. The sensor would send negative feed back to the computer causing the computer to go out. The dealer might replace them for you and the computer.
