Unhappy GMC Canyon 2005 SLE / Crew Cab Brake prob

I just bought a used GMC Canyon 2005 SLE / Crew Cab. I love he truck, in fact I bought it for the shape, but I've noticed after sitting a night, when I go to drive it first thing in the morning, it squeaks for a while until a block or so. I've noticed very high sensitivity as well when I step on the brakes. It really Grabs..

anyone else have that problem, and what you did for it?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Vern

Have the pads been changed? Are they low, or maybe a different material than OEM?
Unless you have a bunch of miles on the truck, it sounds like the truck is still under warranty. Take it to your local GMC dealer, and have them take a look. It may have to spend the night, so the problem can be duplicated.

i would suspect the brake material as well. when i changed out the brakes in my old s-10 it would send your face into the steering wheel on the first stop or two in the morning. something about rust build-up on the rotors. i bought all the parts at napa but don't remeber the brand. rear brakes also locked up if had rained overnight. hope this helps.

If this is a low mileage vehicle it is a normal condition even moreso in damp or humid climate since the rotors actualy rust on the surface after sitting overnight which make noise and makes braking more sensitive for the first couple of stops. This has been a common problem do to the rotor and brake pad composition. we get alot of complaints of brake noise at times at the dealer all the time and someone who bought a 50 or 60k suburban doesn't want to hear it is normal but since they stopped using asbestos in the brake pads and use semimetalic meaning there is metal in the brake pad riding against a metal rotor it is bound to make noise.
