Question Lifted GMC Truck streeing Shimmies

I don't know anything about cars so I don't know what to call certain parts. I have a lifted truck it's about a 4" left. The truck when I got it shimmed when you turn left or right. I went and had new tires put on it and it's a lot better. The tire company couldn't align the tires because there lift couldn't go high enough to rise the truck off the ground. I would like to know do you think if the truck was align right if this problem would go away? Also the old owner of this truck ended up bending one of the arms. I think it's call the strut arm. All I can say it's the bar that runs from front axle to real of truck and there is two of them. Do you think this could be part of the problem. I had a auto shop take a look at the steering and they couldn't find a thinging wrong, but did noticed that the truck shimmed. I had the tire company say it might be the strut arms or hubs are loose. But they couldn't tell me because they could get the truck off the ground. Any suggestions Thank you

the bars you are talking about sound like your torsion bars. what year is the truck? does the truck clunk when you take the corners also?

how big are the tires? I would suspect you need a steering damper on it.

the truck is a 2001. The truck doesn't clunk, it jiggles when turning.

No, you have to hold the steering wheel tightly.

i'd start checking steering components (tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm etc..) for looseness.

if you have to hold the wheel tightly, i'd say the wheel wants to pull out of your hand.

i'd check the steering componets.

gmc steering

when you had it lifted the wheels have come closer together so i think the toe in is out of adjustment and maybe camber too better have the front end alighment done on it hope this will help your steering shimmy
