DODGE GUY is on a distinguished road
Good Deal?

Hello All.

My Dad is looking at a 1995 GMC Sierra Z71 with a 350 and 150,000 miles. The guy wants $3000 for it and like most trucks it's age it has a few minor issues, But overall runs pretty good. It's also clean, Very little rust especially for Minnesota. It needs brake rotors, And the classic sagging door on the drivers side but otherwise runs and drives very well. It's had a new Tranny in the last year or so and a few other things like a radiator.

Also, What are the most common issues for a GMC truck of this era? (besides fuel pumps) I know these things go forever but I know much like my beloved Ram they have their issues too.

Thanks.

Whats up Dodge Guy,
I think 3,000 is a pretty good price. You cant really get anything for that anymore. I guess it all depends on what your dad is going to be doing with it. You said it had a tranny job recently. This doesent mean you can go out and tow for super long trips. Also you said its clean and runs good so the owner probably took good care of it. I say for 3,000 what the ****, go for it. Just my opinion. Hoped this helped

The Tranny is a Jasper Reman so it's good and still under warrenty. Basically this truck won't pull much (Small boat and maybe an ATV trailer) and will see 85% highway miles, Running up to the lake and our hunting property 175 miles and 250 miles away so it should have a pretty easy life. It's in far better shape than I would have expected for the price and the guy has put about $700 into the front end since March and it's pretty tight.

My Dad is in a situation where having 2 of my younger siblings in college he needs this truck to last 2 years or about 40,000 miles, And I think it will do that pretty easy.
