| 83 gmc not wanting to stay running well cold i have an 83 gmc pickup with a 383 stroker in it and when i start it in the morning it acts like it getting to much gas but once it warms up its ok i thought it was the choke not open or getting stuck open but i checked that and its ok i dont know what else it could be |

| do you have manual or vaccuum controlled choke?? if vacuum, it is going to idle down when that engine gets ready too. same thing with the vacuum advance on the distributor. it is going to idle higher when she is cold so she wont stumble and die. if you have the mechanical controlled choke and you depressed the gas pedal, it would kick the choke out and she would come close to dying by idling way low. |
