Won't Start

I've got a 96 GMC Jimmy v6 auto 4x4.Was running good then changed the battery and dist.cap.Now it won't start?Checked and rechecked for a unplugged wire,blown fuse.Also have tried to reset alarm system. It seems like no fuel or spark.When you turn key on you don't hear the pump and when you check for spark I can't see or feel one? Any help would be great my freind is going loony without his truck THANKs

when you say you check for spark you can see one or FEEL one?? you are a braver man than me. i aint about to get hit with spark.

Is the Anti-Theft or Security Light on??
