| Bracket Nightmare Hello everyone! Hey guys i'm new to this post and yes I have problems with my GMC Suburban. I own an 88 GMC suburban 4wheel drive and just rebuilt the engine (350 TBI) and am struggling mightily as I have forgotten how a few of my accessory brackets mount as it has been apart for over a year now. In particular is the way the AC compressor brackets mount and I also have two support rods that I have no idea where they mount at. Does any one own a simular year GMC or Chevy and if so would you be kind enough to Post pics so I can finally figure this Oversized Coffee Table (As my girlfriend calls it) out. |

| just think of it as being very efficiant, you really didn't need all those parts anyway. you should have seen the parts pile after my first engine rebuild.

| bradrhale, Yes it has the Pancake Compressor and I really will need it this summer as we are in the lower desert out here in Cali. I looked in the Haynes manual and it only shows the 2 wheel drive setup it does not show the 4 wheel drive model and trust me they are different as Mine has Support rods everywhere. Thanks anyway, however I am going to search for a simular model in my area. Hopefully one that has all the Cr*p that Mine does. Oh and don't worry there are about 6 or 7 hold down clamps that I threw across the garage as GM overkills with those darn things. Thanks again. |

Right you are Sir. The long rod comes off the Thermostat housing Long Bolt and the short rod comes off the front of the head and they meet where they bolt to the AC Bracket. Scarey how that just snapped into my head after you said the back of the Compressor. THANKS.... CHEVY GUY! THIS SITE ROCKS!!! | |
