 |  Tranny Swap Question I have a 1977 G.M.C. 3/4 ton heavy duty, 2 wheel drive. Original 454-4spd. It has 410 rear with 14 bolt. Body is still in good shape, Just replaced a arm bushings, Cab bushings, brakes. I am wanting to put a 5 spd overdrive manual trans in it. I have a 396 all ready to go. What year and What model of trans do i need to bolt up? Thanks for any help. |

 | As far as model goes I'm not sure, but any year small/big block tranny will work.

| I'm a big handshaker fan, but have you given any thought to a kitted TH400? That is a sweet tranny. Bolts right up. Just need a cooler.
