Hey Guys & Gals, First, I'm no mech. and need some good'ol Chevy help. But, this is my question I need help with; What engine can I use to replace my locked up 350tbi engine in a 1987 Suburban? Can I use an early model 350 or must I find an exact year 350tbi like I have now? How bout a 305 or 454? Can I use my intake and other stuff off my old engine for the new block? Can somebody give me a list of what year or models I can choose from? And last question is, where can I get a good engine online or close to Ga.? Thanks for all helpful advise...

GM performance parts has a very reasonable stock replacement that comes with 36 month 50K warranty. You can also get a 383 stroker from them that is a bolt in replacement that even uses the stock TBI and computer. I drove one in a dually that was stout. Jasper also makes replacemant motors with warrantys also. The big chain stores (auto zone, o'reilly etc..) also supply rebuilt ones also.

Ok, But I forgot to mention I'm on a budget and didn't what to put much money into it as I might sale it once I get it back on the road. I'm pretty much thinking a used motor will do. But Hey Thanks...

If you are looking for a replacement engine for your burb, consider a G.M. performance parts 350 Ci crate engine. They will come complete for around $1500.00, and all you have to do is bolt it in, stick your factory TBI on top, and go man go!. They offer one of the best warranties when installed in a GM vehicle, and for the money, you can't beat it. Sure you could probably save a couple of bucks taking out the old one, and having it re-built, but the down time has got to be worth something. This is the easiest, and cheapest way to get the burb back on the road again in no time at all.

| i thin autozone sells rebuild for like $700 with a 3-36 warranty. Dont expect a whole lot, but if you just need a good inexpensive longblock, there you have it.
