Idle speed problem

howdy ya'll..so here is my problem...i get into my truck after work today and start it up and it seems to be runing fine...then i get talking with 1 of the office girls who parked beside me while i'm letting my truck warm up and i noticed that it kept clicking inbetween low and high idle every few seconds and i'm wondering what the heck is goin on, but i still keep tlakin with her(good lookin chick) then i start to go home and it seems to run fine, get back 2 my apartment and it's running normal, not clicking inbetween high and low idle...so i'm wondering..what the heck?

whoops..thought i typed that in there...96 gmc 1/2 ton ext cab z71 w/ 350 vortec & auto

Clicking, and high idle sounds like you had the a/c on.

went out and started it yesterday morning and it was still clicking but not as often, then after work it ran perfect...i swear this thing is possessed
