dome lights

Hello everyone, my wife's 99 GMC Jimmy has changed. Before a couple of weeks ago the dome light would turn itself off after a few minutes when you left the car or when you released the emergency brake when starting to drive. Also the radio would continue to play after you shut off the ignition and would not turn off until you opened the door to exit. Both of these were nice features. Now we have to hit the dome override to turn off the dome lights and the radio stops when the ignition is shut off. The auto sensor for the headlights is working. What the heck is going on?

all these features work in conjunction with the door switch, so i would check there. if the car thinks the door is open then the dome light will stay on and the radio will turn off with the ignition. i would check the switches at the door jams for power, also hit them with some lithum grease to make sure the switch isn't stuck open. don't forget the back gate and window also, those are good at not latching properly.

Hey guess what! The thing that prompted me to ask this in the first place was the fix. Last weekend I replaced the door hinge pins and bushing and that reminded me of the dome light problem and promted the question. Now that the door lines up properly, the dome light situation has resolved itself. Cool, hah! thanks for the suggestions.
