Transmission question...

This started just yesterday. I was excellerating and felt a clunck? I later that day felt the same clunck 3 more times. Also today it has been happening, but not all the time. It seems to be happening as the transmission is shifting into overdrive. Sometimes it is very noticable and other times it is subtle. Other times it doesn't do it at all? Any ideas before I spend a lot of money I don't have???????????
Oh.........I have a 2001 GMC 1500HD which has the 6.0 motor.

Plenty of things it could be. Try eliminating the little things like u-joints, and the slip joint. The splines can dry, and cause all sorts of troubles.
Hopefully you will find the problem in the rotating assembly, and be able to fix it easily.

Thumbs up trans quest

99' Z71 230,000 miles., shifts hard in the lower gears. not daily and cannot make it shift hard, but does at times. I can shut it down, open the door to shut down the delay timer for the radio and acc., then restart it and it acts like nothing ever happened. was told it could be the elec. solenoids in the tranny going out. about $300 pulled horses 1000+ miles two weeks ago and it only happened once. will probably keep drivin' it until it quits!!

it was probably just the motor mount or the drive shaft u-joints.
