Read that again.
The brake light goes out when the pedal is pushed, and the other lights remain the same. If I recall the 99 truck has independant bulbs for the turn signals, and of course the running light is a seperate element, so that is working fine. If the brake lights are working the opposite way, the switch is wired backwards, it is wired normally closed instead of normally open. |

i dunno, to me it sounds like the taillights are on and when he hits the brake pedal, then the tail lights go out and the brake lights don't come on. kinda confusing.

brake light problem
Thanks for the info guys. I checked the bulbs and they are ok. Sorry for the confusion but what I meant is that when I push the pedal down the lights come on then they go off even though the pedal is still pushed. And this happens everytime I push the brakes.
