Cool Question about my 2007 GMC Sierra (New Style)

Hi everyone, I am new to this thread and I'd like to post a question to any new style 2007 GMC Sierra owners.

I purchased my 2007 GMC Sierra SLE 1500 4x4 auto shift extended cab in February.
Traded in my burnt Orange 2001 GMC for it (man I was sad to see that puppy go, loved that color)
Anyway I love my new truck, but I have one complaint/concern that I'd like to share.
When I slow down say for a junction and do not come to a complete stop, and I get back on the gas the transmission clunks and it seems like the transmission is in 1st gear and revs real high as I pull away It's almost like the truck selects 1st gear before it comes to a complete stop. My old Sierra never used to do this and it would seem like it would stay in 2nd gear until the truck came to a complete stop.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it normal for the 2007's to do this?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

The 4L60E will shift to low gear before it comes to a complete stop. The new one is not doing anything wrong, you got used to the old one that did not downshift. The trans in the 01 was incorrect. You are able to alter shift points with some software if you would like. pretty easy to do.

Thank you 75K30, do you have any idea what kind of software I need and where to get it from?

I usuall y write my own parameters, but this is not practical for most.
Plenty of aftermarket companies make converters (not torque converters) that have preset shift points that are pre-programmed to alter shift points. I believe companies such as "HOT", "TCI", and even "B&M", all make these style of unts.
However, before you run right out and void your warranty, you may go back to the dealer and have them re-flas your ECM to determine tha the shift points it currently has are correct. This is a warranty issue, and should not require money to resolve.

Thank you again, i'd rather take it back to my dealer to look at first. Thanks

I use to see this in older CK trucks and the dealer had an updated powertrain reprogram. Check with your dealer.
