    whats wrong with bowl work??
as much as i am spending on this engine, i would still like to keep a budget. i planned for 3 grand and pretty sure i'm gonna be 1 grand over budget already.
    $700 for engine
    $800 for valvetrain
    $2000 for rotating assembly
    $300 for pcm tune
    ???? headers
    ???? timing chain/gears
    ???? master gasket kit
    ???? head work
    ???? block work

    nevermind, i found it.
a mismatch at the bottom of the port tends to impede the reverse flow of the exhaust at lower RPM. this helps with low end torque without compromising top end output. might be something to look into when purchasing headers. something like that would be very beneficial in your application.

whats wrong with bowl work?? they sell the bits fairly cheap at any welding store and then all you would need is the tube for measuring the combustion chamber. i would hope that you do this as while you where in there, you could port out the intake runners a bit. i have also seen where people will adjust the exhaust runner where it meets up to the header where they dont match up. supposedly, this is supposed to help with something as it creates a swirling vortex of terror when exhaust gases leave the head. dont ask me what it does cause i would spend all day looking for that book.
i am really excited to see how this turns out. if i get this other car, i plan on starting my build. dont know if i will do like you though and build an LS though.

thought about these to control compression ratio instead of doing bowl work on the heads.

we have a "wish list" for our next update, if we ever luck out and get it. that very thing is in the wish list along with a list of about 20 other items. we all think that this section of the forum would get alot more attention that way. it is still a good idea nonetheless. any other ideas are always welcome.
