New Here

Hey everyone, I'm new here and thought I'd post on this board first. I love trucks, horses, dogs and photography. I wish I knew more about trucks, hence the reason of joining this forum. It looks to be loaded full of information.

Oh by the way I am a GMC/Chevy fan. I like the body style of the GMC's. Although I own a 89 Ford 150 that has 380,000 miles on it right now. It runs great for the mileage on it so I couldn't ask for much more....well other than better gas mileage. Something seems to be going on with it. It's a straight 6 and only gets 200 miles to a tank (like a 15 gallon tank).

Just thought I'd say hi.

welcome , and at 380,000 miles things do start to wear out. that being fuel injected , do you ever use injector cleaner in it . around here we love lucas products . others work too.

Welcome and howdy from TEXAS. I say you should make that gas mileage or did you make more before? Plus remember all the miles it has don't push or let her hear you talk about her she just might throw a rod. Give it a good tune up with name brand replacement parts no auto zone brand parts.

Thank you for the welcome.

Well I figure something is wrong because it use to get bout 22 miles per gallon couple years back. Yes I have and do use fuel injector cleaner in it.

This was my mothers truck. She was horribly hard on it. When I got it I had a tune up done on it because you would go to pass someone and it would chug a little bit. So new spark plugs, wires and everything was well again. The gas mileage didn't improve though.

Since I'm a girl I can ask stupid questions right? lol It no longer has a muffler as a guy I asked said that was ok. It's really not all that loud. My question is if I go and have a muffler put on will that help any? Or just make it quiet like it once was?

I really have no complaints about the truck. The body style has grown on me and I've thought about maybe trying to learn a little about mechanics. Maybe improving it since I really wouldn't get anything for it being it has so many miles on it. A few dings and the paint is just now starting to kind of peel/crack. Kinda thinking I'd like to keep it no matter, slowly start to I guess upgrade? (is that the word?) lol

Oh yes, my screen name...well it's not Horse "power" as I've been asked about before by folks. It's Horse Poor......self explantitory.

Thank you again for the welcome.
