Yep, your son will be about 50 minutes away from me. Ft. Sill. I live near Tinker AFB in the city of Moore. You know home of the big F5+. The place where the highest wind speed was ever recoreded on earth is 2.2 miles from my house. I was here that day and within 1 mile of that tornado and watched it go by. When I go see my daughter at Dyess, AFB in Abliene, TX, I go right by Ft. Sill, then to the other AFB in Witchita Falls, TX then onto Abilene. Noway buddy, Sorry, I will not be bock. Not to live anyway. Visit yes. Not to live. Hate it. Traffic, drugs, smog, crime, gangs, high cost of living, overrun by.....nevermind that, don't want to come across as racist, but you know what I mean. I am just fine right here with low traffic, low crime, gang banger wannabe's but no serious issues, drugs yes, but easy to avoid and keep out of your neighborhoos, and the good ole make my day law, along with stand your ground law. It doesn't pay to be a criminal in Moore America OK, especially if you come around my house. We freaked out last year, there was a murder in our city. It was domestic in nature. 2 buddies got drunk and stupid and one killed the other. I have everything right here that all big cities have, with the country like type of friendly people and all the good people take care of the good people and if you are a thug, you will get your butt run off in a hurry. I have to say, I think I may very well be a converted redneck with an aggressive city boy attitude if that makes sense.

my governer made it legal to shoot someone on their front porch. used to, you were only allowed to shoot once they came across that threshhold. now if you feel threatened, you dont have to let them in first. nice part about this is that the state of texas considers your car to be identical to you house. you can shoot before they get in your car as well. best idea rick perry has come up with yet considering that all of his other ideas are crazy and without foresight. hotrod, you live less than 400 miles from me. i cant make it across texas in that distance unless i head east. i am about an hour from the state line of TX and LA. me and a bunch of friends one time drove up to Minneapolis. very interesting experience as i have only gone somewhere other than tx twice in my life. never been further west than say, San Antonio. i live what some would call a sheltered life. but why go anywhere when i can have so much fun around here. one of these days, i do plan on visiting WA sate. have always wanted to go to Mt. Ranier. seen pics and told myself that i had to go oneday.

True. Lots the TX Gulf Coast doesn't exist anymore. Nice to know you are not to far away. Doesn't sound like you get out much, but if ever passing thru, stop by. One thing nice about OKC being centrally located in US, I do get friends, acquaintences and relatives stop by, just passing thru. As I mentioned in another thread, One of the street race guys from way back in So. Cal now lives in FL, he bought a truck in Joplin, MO off of eBay. I had not seen him in 19 years. He got a hold of one of our common friends that still lives in So. Cal and got my # from him, called me up and he stopped in for a home cooked meal, and good nights sleep, then left the next day about Noon and drove on home to FL. Had another buddy from CA one time, delivering a newly built in CA trash truck to Arkansas. He stopped in for a night, had breakfast and got back on the road. He flew home from Ark. Nice to catch up with those old buddies from way back in the days.

hahaha, yes I do. Very boring drive to Abilene. Heavy on the pedal, I make it to Ft Worth in 2 1/2 hours, about the same to Dallas. Actually is a 3 hour drive around the speed limit and a bit of normal traffic. I hate traffic, so I usually go after 6pm, and come home early in the morning. I agree though, there is not much here in many areas of the state. It is not the state to live in for entertainment. Although, that is changing in downtown OKC. It has grown alot since I been here, but I have outgrown that going out and partying and drinking stuff. I am perfectly fine sitting at home. I have plenty to do here. And if I get board, I can go to my dads 60 miles East of here where he has 160 acres of recreation land. A great place to ride ATV's, shoot, fish, camp, hunt and do whatever we want to do. I am not real fond of many of our lakes here. We have a bunch, but they seem dirty even though they aren't. Red Clay water. That is why I love the Colorado River so much. Very clean clear water.
