Howdy

Well first off i just want to say a big howdy to everyone. Glad i found this place it seems rather inviting.

So let's start this circus of my introduction off. lol. The name is Dan, i'm 16, i currently am going to vocational school for construction/heavy equipment operation, i will be able to get my CDL through the school 3 months after my seinor year when i turn 18. I plan on driving truck or getting hired on with a company that specalizes such as excavation or rigging. I come from a long line of werid folks. Truck driving runs back 3 generations on my dad's side along with construction. My great grandpa was a member of the teamsters and the operators unions. So it's something that is really in me, it skipped over my dad though he went the office job route. lol. I currently drive a 97 Ranger that is my baby. I have had since september of 2008 we payed $450 for her and she only had 118,800 miles on her. She has had her fair share of issues and repair work though i do it all myself so i save big time. When i'm not dealing with everyday life i hangout on forums quite a bit. I'm also a big fan of bluegrass and have an online station i proudly call home. Other then online when my back pain is down enough and allows i like to play with my riding mower and do landscaping. I'm also a cb nut and love playing with them. I currently have atleast 10. lol. As for when i'm out of school i plan to move to Arkansas though i will go in what ever direction the lord and the tides take me. So essentially that is me, without my life story. If yall can't tell i'm a talker and my mouth will get to running like a draft tap at times, normally though it's got something good or wise coming out of it. I been down many dark roads in 16 years and learned a lot. Anywho, i'll wrap this up because i need to drag my butt to bed seeing as i gott be up in like 3 to 4ish hours. lol. Feel free to ask any questions if you wish.

Yeah. That's why we are searching for the cause and so far no luck. I'm hoping the neurologist i'm going to next week will be the answer. I honestly hate having the back pain but i have learned to live with it. In the past 5 years i have only had 4 months without back, hip, or knee pain. So hopefully the doctors find the answers soon.

Silverhair- Ahh the good old days. When you carried 3 different log books, would try and get around the chicken coops without getting nailed, and a good amount of the drivers were actually human and would stop to help someone. It's sad that a good amount of the drivers out there are still good solid men and women but these peabrained super truckers who can run their mouth for hours and have an attitude the size of a water buffalo give us all a bad name.

Anywho, thanks for the welcome everyone.

lol. Some drivers still do. lol. I know quite a few that do it though with a lot of companies going electronic now it's getting harder to cheat and fudge on the swindle sheets. lol. Computers, the one thing they ain't good for. lol. As for being in a truck i don't mind it. I prefer stuff like tri-axle dumps much easier to handle, though i'm the kindof person i don't care what you give me to haul or drive all do it. Within legal constraints and whatnot. Honestly though tri-axle dump is a lot more fun to drive though it's a little harder to hit the gears on some of them. Like our one at school has an odd gear pattern and if you don't drive it every day when you first hop in you might grind through the first few.

That's a Big 10-4 Tractor Dan, about the new "Super Truckers" screwing it up for all of them. There are a few good ones left, but not near as many. The good truckers or even the bad ones for that matter, do not get the respect they deserve. People do not think and realize EVERYTHING in their house or vehicle at one time, probably got to the retailer by truck. They also do not realize truckers give up 26-28 days a month away from their families. It a differant lifestlye, not for everone. Of course I am speaking of OTR drivers. Many in my family including husband wife teams are or were truckers. My bro was home every night for his last 3 years of doing it, he was a gasoline tanker driver when his wife, now ex, decided she wanted to stay home after 2 years on the road. Again, no respect, by citizens and the law enforcement officers too, but by god, when they go to fill up their family car, the gas station better have fuel. Ever wonder how it gets there??? My bro, got a ticket for 5 over the speed limit moving with the flow of traffic in the fast lane on I 40 in OK. He told the State trooper, this is ridiculous, 5 mph over??? The trooper said ridiculous or not, you have no business in the fast lane and driving 5 over carrying an 8000 gallon gas bomb and wrote him a ticket. Another point in the driving record. How stuid is that. And then cops wonder why do not the respect they deserve. Power trippin idiots. Also had a gf whose mom was a CA Highway Patrol, and she'd come home and brag how many truckers she gave tickets to.

Yep Yep. 10-4 on that one. Them danged bears man they will nail your stones to the tree just for bragging rights. Them troopers tend to get this ego power trip going in their head. As for everything getting to people by truck i shut someone up real quick on that. He claimed it would be better to haul gasoline and diesel by rail and then distribute it from a main hub on tiny little 1,000 gallon tankers. I looked him square in the eye and said your dumber then a sack of hammers, it would look like convoy lining up at each station to fill the underground tanks. lol. Then i broke into "It was the dark of the moon on the 6th of June in a Kenworth pulling logs". He shut up real quick. lol. Drivers love me. I'm constantly throwing out bear reports, i give them plenty of room and flipping signal lights to let them in so most drivers love me. Then again there are the super truckers who think they are so big and loud on their bargain basement peak and tune. I'm running barefoot with a Grant and 5000 Magmount and i can stomp on them. lol. That's without running power. It's not how loud you can get, it's how strong of a signal you have. lol. Anywho, yeah truckers don't get respect and it ain't right. I have had people say truck drivers are stupid and idiots, i'm like fine if you hate truckers you can get your ****. lol.
