| hello, everyone! i checked out the forum, looks like you guys (&gals) might be able to help me out with any questions i might have about anything with a pickup bed.... or mabe even a flatbed, haha. i alwredy have a 65 buick skylark as my project car, and a 97 monte carlo as my driver ( red is nice, haha), and i have been lucky enuff to have been raised in a gearhead house! im currantly looking to buy an 88 DODGE d250 - LE sno- commander pickup from a friend, the truck is red & silver with the red LE interior, a red lund cap, new tires, and manuell locking hubs. its fairly straight, and decently solid for a factory plow truck. a little crusty, but for the price im getting it for its still a sweet deal. it has a 360 and an auto trans, dana 60 in the rear, dana 44 in front, pretty much factory. oh, it has 66,000 miles ( thats on the title, and the odo.) it needs a gas & a brake line ( no biggie). the real PITA to find has been a front axle, caus the one in the truck is FINISHED! i did not know how hard a 3/4 ton dana 44 is to find!!! im sure ill come across one eventually i just want the truck so i can plow the driveway / road ( penndot taxes my butt!), something to haul wood with, take up to my buddies cabin, and just do basic truck chores with! |

| If youre in PA, check out Harry's U-pull it. you really dont need the Dana 44 either, check the tag on the differential housing for the gear ratio and find one that matches. Maybe you will be able to find a Dana 60 with the same gear ratio. Heres a tip, The eight lug bolt pattern Dana axles were used in both the 3/4 and 1 ton Dodges. If Im correct anything between 1973 and 1993 should be a bolt in replacement. Anything newer than 1993 you will have to weld spring perches on the housing.
