Unhappy shift problem

i have a 2000 chevy blazer 4x4 when i drive for a long time it will start shifting hard in 1st and 2nd but 3 and 4 are fine But if you stop driving like to put gas or stop at a store it will go back to shifting good its driving me crazy

could be low on fluid and overheating, or you may need a rebuild, could be a bad clutch.

sounds like a solenoid. I'd take it to a shop and have them look at it. Sometimes they can pull codes without a check engine light.
