| New Dodge Hemi Owner I just bought a 2006 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Larimie with the HEMI engine. It replaced a 1999 Silverado. I like the looks and the way it drives. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the computer's avg MPG is consistanly 2 MPG higher than the actual MPG (mile driven divided by gallons used). Last 3 tanks: Actual MPG = 12.7, Computer's Avg MPG = 14.8. The sticker was 15 city/19 highway. Any comments/suggestions? |

| Welcome to the forum I've always known the computers to be more of an estimate...nothing exact.

| i dont trust any computer on trucks. really if you think about it, nothing it tells you is accurate. 3/4 tank of gas is not 3/4. you can drive a whole lot more miles between full and 3/4 than you can from 3/4 to half. 125 degrees does not mean that the temperature is 125. it all is just a roundabout figure. we know though that at 1/4 tank of gas that we need to start looking for a gas station and anything more than what out temp guage says that there is a problem. that computer isnt going to know an exact amount of gas is going through those injectors from fill up to fill up. never go by what the sticker says. it too will be a little off cuz lets face it, 15 and 19 sounds alot better than what you are presently getting |

| What he said^^^. My wife could get 25 out of our old caravan (the last dodge we will ever own) But I could only get 22 at best. My driving vs hers. Her new explorer get about 15 MPG in town and about 20-23 on the highway. The stickers are always off. Her little estimator is pretty darn close though. Congrats on the new AMERICAN built truck!
