Mazda B6S question.

My girlfriends dad has a 1990 B6S and my first question is; Is this a "B series" truck? And second hes changed the starter and altinator but after the truck starts and is put in first it dies and wont stay running. He thinks its a wireing problem. Anybody have any ideas?
