b3000 has knocking noise

I have a b3000 that has a knocking noise coming from the left front of it. At least that sounds like where it is coming from. I first thought it might be a loose shock,but that was not it. I notice it mostly at low speeds on bumpy areas of the street. Has anyone out there had this problem and if so what was it. Thanks for your reply.

might be a ball joint or tie rod end. did you check for any play in your front end?
