| 1996 B2300 On my 96 B2300, when I am running the A/C the air flow goes back and forth between the defrost and vents. What could be causing this? |

| Sounds like the air direction switch is failing. There is a directional flap in the ducts, that could also be loose. One of the two. Is it a mechanical lever for the vents or an electrical? I forget when the switched.

| It is a knob, far right defrost to far left max A/C. Where would this directional switch be and also the flapper? |

| When I said directional switch, I was talking about the Knob. If there is a short in the wiring for that switch, it will fluxuate. However, inside the duct work, is the directional flap I guess you can call it, that diverts the air to where you want it. If it is loose, then it will constantly switch directions as air moves through it. Here is a weird question, does your truck have an automatic climate control feature? I do not think it does, but I was curious.
